The way our missing charger was handled left us locking anything valuable in the safe or our suitcases. We called reception and got no answer, so went downstairs. They gave us a charger but no adapter and said they’d talk to the cleaning staff the next day. When we asked again, we were told nobody admitted taking it and nothing more could be done. It felt like management’s only response was to ask people whether they’d taken our things. The room was musty, and we’d kept the window open since arriving to clear the stale air. After our first day out, we came back to a room that was barely cleaned: the bedroom bin was emptied but not the bathroom one, the bed wasn’t made, and towels weren’t replaced, even the ones on the floor. We’d booked online, paid in advance, and checked in. There was no closet, just four hangers. Bring your own toiletries, since theirs are a single face, hair, and body wash. The kitchen closes early, and takeaway can only be eaten at the tables by the freezing front door in the lobby.

The food was a real highlight, especially the roast chicken and truffle mac and cheese. I spent several weeks at Mama Shelter Shoreditch and loved the stylish rooms and atmosphere. The staff were warm and attentive, and Bilal deserves a special mention for going out of his way to make everything easy throughout my stay. I’d recommend both the restaurant and hotel.

The food was great, and there’s plenty to do nearby. Mama’s Shelter has a lively but comfortable feel, with colorful, modern interiors that put me in a good mood. Service stood out most: everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It’s a stylish, energetic place that feels well run and has more personality than a generic hotel.

Everything felt so well cared for at Mama Shelter. The rooms were spotless, the bathrooms maintained perfectly, and the shared spaces looked fresh and tidy. The cleaning team clearly takes its work seriously. That made my stay more comfortable and enjoyable. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in.

I felt comfortable and relaxed throughout my stay at Mama Shelter Hotel. The restaurant, lounge, and other shared areas stayed in excellent condition, and the room was spotless, from the floors and linens to the bathroom. Even the amenities were neatly arranged. The lobby looked immaculate and smelled fresh as soon as I arrived. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in keeping every corner in good shape. I’ll come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, stylish, welcoming place.
