Marriott Hotel London Park Lane

Housekeeping was very efficient: after I requested service, the room was cleaned within an hour. I also appreciated the Rooms Manager personally checking on me after the “Do Not Disturb” sign had been on my door for two days. That showed care for my safety and well-being. The front desk team were professional, honest and cooperative, and the gate staff were exceptionally welcoming, with warm greetings and genuine Arabian hospitality. I had hoped for a room with a view during my stay of more than a week, but it didn't take away from an excellent, memorable experience. I recommend the hotel, especially to Saudi guests and people who value warm hospitality. One suggestion: consider a lower refundable deposit. I'll definitely stay again.

An unexpected 18-hour layover in London after delays and rerouting gave us a chance to rest after an exhausting journey. The location across from Hyde Park was amazing, with plenty of taxis right outside. London cabs are the best. The hotel is medium-sized but has a luxurious, boutique feel. Our elite status got us an upgrade to a clean, comfortable suite on the 3rd floor, away from street noise. Konstandina was friendly and helpful when checking us in. We had a great rest and will definitely stay again. The executive lounge breakfast had a good selection, and Ahmed was attentive, keeping everything clean and tidy.

The room felt a little worn from heavy use, and the shower was quite tight. It's an expensive hotel, too. But the room had more space than most London hotels I've stayed in, the bed was medium comfortable, and the bidet was a big plus for us. We appreciated the complimentary water every day, turndown chocolates, and desserts twice during our stay. What stood out most was the staff: welcoming, smiling and full of positive energy, from the entrance and reception to the concierge and people we passed in the hallways. The hotel and lobby are quite small, but the location is excellent at the corner of Park Lane and Oxford Street, with bus stops and subway stations just steps away. We spent seven nights here before heading to Scotland. My friend had business in London, and we wanted a nice break too. The hotel helped make that happen.

The location is excellent, though transport in London is convenient enough that location alone doesn't justify the premium. The entrance didn't feel like arriving at a luxury hotel on Park Lane; it was more like walking into someone's private home. Service was adequate in most areas, while the Executive Lounge staff were excellent, consistently pleasant, attentive and professional. Room service and amenities deliveries were the best turnaround I've had at any hotel: extra items arrived within 10 minutes every time. My room was very spacious, but the headboard was worn and chapped, and the pillows were terrible. I asked for a firm one, then housekeeping inexplicably swapped it out a few days later. The Penhaligon’s toiletries were a nice brand, but the scent was overwhelming, like old-man cologne. Alternative products weren't available, so I bought my own at the pharmacy across the street. Housekeeping was hit and miss, sometimes leaving amenities unreplenished. The hotel's heavy scent was unbearable, and occasional hallway smells suggesting guests had been smoking made it unpleasant. It was just okay for the price and didn't feel like a five-star hotel. I wouldn't stay again.
