ME London

The location is hard to beat. We visited the Courtauld Gallery, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, and Royal Opera House, with mainline stations, the underground, theatres, and restaurants all close by. We didn't dine at the hotel because we wanted to try Covent Garden. We had an enjoyable two-night stay over Saturday and Sunday for a 30th birthday party in the rooftop radio bar. The modern interior is distinctive, and our well-appointed room faced a quiet side overlooking the Strand. There was a lot of attention to detail, and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Staff were excellent, and Pal looked after us well at the STK bar. The complimentary drinks were a nice touch. The room was very good value for money, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience in this part of London.

The staff we met were all really nice, and room service was prompt and pleasant. Check-in itself was fine, though it was strange that nobody offered to take our bags until we were already leaving the lobby with them. The upstairs bar was run high and tight. We managed fine for two nights, but I wouldn't recommend the hotel or come back. The rooms and building are in rough shape, with rusted door hinges and little things that felt broken or ready to break. It felt like a party hotel from the 2000s, and the room amenities brought Las Vegas in 2005 to mind. The general feel reminded me of the movie Scarface. Housekeeping left a dirty dusting towel on my husband's cashmere sweater, which he'd laid out to de-wrinkle. And every time we were in the hall, we saw and smelled huge amounts of fake perfume being sprayed into the air. It didn't smell good, and it isn't healthy.

The staff were welcoming and friendly all through my visit, and Chayma gave excellent service that made it even more enjoyable. ME London is a beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms and a perfect base for exploring the city. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

The location in Soho is excellent, close to theatres and lots of great places in the city. The marble and steel finishes look beautiful. I appreciated that they honored my birthday upgrade, and as a Gold member I received another upgrade too. Breakfast at the lovely Italian restaurant was outstanding and very complete. A few comfort issues held things back. The so-called king bed was two beds pushed together, and the split down the middle was uncomfortable. The shower pressure was low. The room was also extremely hot. I called reception twice and both times a female staff member told me that was the hotel's standard temperature. I didn't feel my concern was taken seriously, and the heat was uncomfortable as soon as I walked in. It's a great-looking hotel in a fantastic location, but bedding, shower pressure, and temperature control could use improvement.
