Middle Eight - Covent Garden

The staff made my first stay at Middle Eight feel so welcoming. Saq greeted me at reception, and everyone from reception and concierge to the restaurant and bar teams was kind, attentive, and efficient without being pushy. My room was spacious and cosy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Holborn station is only two minutes away and Covent Garden is a six-minute walk, with lots of good restaurants nearby. The area felt quiet and less crowded than Covent Garden or Soho, while still being perfect for exploring on foot or by underground. This definitely won't be my last stay.

Saq is the reason I’ll come back to Middle Eight. He sorted out two separate bookings under my name quickly, so I wasn’t inconvenienced, and he made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. His suggestions for food and coffee were great too. My friend and I tried the burger place across the way and had a wonderful meal. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but I’ve never felt this welcome. The room was clean and nicely furnished, with a beautiful view. This was my first stay at Middle Eight, and it definitely won’t be my last.

The concierge team were especially helpful with taxis, our luggage, and anything else we needed. Thank you to Eduardo and the rest of the team. They also stepped in when one of us lost a backpack on the train into the city, gathering the details we needed to report it to the train company. We got the bag back the next day. We were a group of friends and got a warm welcome, including a complimentary glass of prosecco. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept, with complimentary water and soft drinks. The hotel is right in the heart of Covent Garden, with everything close by. The only small drawback was the bar. It looked like staff training might have been underway, and it was a little uncomfortable watching someone struggle to open a bottle of wine. Even so, we had a very positive stay and I’d definitely return.

The breakfast had a great spread, with cereals, fruit, pastries, and whatever cooked breakfast you wanted. Our room was lovely and really clean, with free soft drinks and milk in the fridge for a cuppa. It rained heavily while we were there, but the hotel had umbrellas we could borrow for a walk around Covent Garden. Coming back for a hot drink and a quiet sit in the upstairs library area was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we got a warm welcome with a complimentary drink. It’s a little expensive, but the central spot is handy for exploring London and close to the theatres. This was our first stay at Middle Eight, and I’d definitely recommend it and love to return.
