The bathroom was clean and pleasantly designed, with decent water pressure and the welcome option of a small bath. We also appreciated the good-quality linen and generous supply of pillows. Beyond those points, though, Montagu Place Hotel didn't feel worth its price or its four-star rating. The bed was extremely soft and bouncy, and I could feel the springs through the thick topper. It was advertised as a 4'6" double, but felt small for the room, which could easily fit a king. Temperature control was poor: at night the room felt drafty and blew cold air even at a high setting, then became too warm in the morning. The thin blind did little to help. From our basement room, movement upstairs was very disruptive despite the old building. Reception staff weren't particularly welcoming, nobody offered to help with luggage, and there didn't seem to be much urgency about sorting problems. The location was good, but it felt more like a solid three-star hotel. We'd stay elsewhere next time.

Montagu Place was clean, quiet and conveniently located, and the friendly reception team did their best to make my trip comfortable. I'd recommend it if you're after an easy, affordable London stay. Just don't expect a four-star boutique experience: amenities are sparse, with no mini bar, very little shared space and few things in the room. It feels more like an inn.

The room was very clean, and I had a great stay at Montagu Place Hotel. Its location is excellent, near Baker Street station and within easy reach of lots of attractions.

The breakfast had everything we could want, including gluten-free options, and the location was great. My Grandmother and I had a lovely, relaxing stay in a luxurious room. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful to us. Thank you.

The hotel was nice enough, and the rooms were adequate. What disappointed me was the strict cancellation and refund policy. I booked the wrong dates by mistake more than four weeks ahead, noticed within an hour of booking, and still couldn't get a refund.
