Mowbray Court Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good value. The shower was very good too. The double room was comfortable, but incredibly small, and the bed was even smaller. Still, it was a reasonably good base for exploring.

We stayed for four days and felt it was well worth the money. Getting around from the location was easy, and the staff were courteous. The rooms are a little small, but perfectly manageable. We also enjoyed the good breakfast and unlimited tea, coffee, and water. A special thanks to Mr. Ajit, who listened to our concerns and helped guide us. We’ll happily come back on our next visit to London.

Breakfast was a busy, noisy continental buffet in the back of the main building, with toast, croissants, yoghurt, fruit, salami, cornflakes, and muesli. It was replenished regularly and fine for a quick meal before heading out. The room was full the second day, so we ate in the lobby, and staff didn’t seem to mind. Our family room was a few buildings up the street. There are steps at both buildings, though lifts inside. The bedroom and beds were small, with two tiny singles and a small double. The bathroom was modern and clean. The TV wasn’t smart, and there was a kettle with tea and coffee. Doors slammed, and we could hear footsteps next door, so we worried about the children being too noisy. The lobby itself was clean, with seats and complimentary hot drinks, and the hotel is close to Earls Court station and the high street. It was basic, but did the job as somewhere to sleep after exploring.

The bed was comfy and cozy, with good pillows and a quilt, and it was really clean. It was pushed against the wall, though, so you could only get in from one side or the bottom, and the cold wall was right beside you. There was plenty of free tea, coffee, and water in both the rooms and reception, plus lots of lighting options. The location was excellent, just around the corner from the Tube. The carpet, on the other hand, was filthy, with red stains and black marks. Storage was very limited, smokers went into the garden noisily at all hours, and breakfast was basic and odd, with no hot choices and tables packed together. There was no bar, and the lift was tiny and tight. The combined toilet and shower looked good, had space, strong water, clean soft white towels, and a mirror that didn’t steam up. But there was nowhere to store washroom things, the extraction fan was very loud, and the taps had low pressure. The toilet paper was very thin and rough. The shower only had a waterfall head and its temperature kept changing. The door didn’t close properly, and there was mold starting near the ceiling and some cobwebs.
