New Dawn Hotel

I nearly canceled before arriving after seeing so many negative reviews, but my stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The staff were really friendly and even helped carry my luggage. My room was very clean and comfortable, with a small balcony. It’s a short walk to the metro and close to the city centre, with restaurants and shops nearby. For a two-star hotel, it was much better than I expected. Don’t be misled by the bad reviews, which I honestly think are unfair.

The hotel’s location was pretty nice, with two tube stations and quite a few shops and restaurants nearby. The room itself was a different story. It and the bathroom were tiny and very dirty. Dust and grime were on the headboards, windows and shower, and during our three-night stay nobody cleaned the room once. Several things were broken too. The table lamp and wall lights didn’t work, so we had to leave the big light on. There were only two power sockets, and one barely worked, which made charging our phones a hassle. The floor was uneven and tilted the already rickety bed. I fell out during the night. I asked at reception for help, and they said someone would come up, but nobody did.

The rooms weren’t tidy enough and had no chair or clothes hangers. The owner was rude and acted like he was the boss. Not a good hotel.

My company’s staff always stay here. It’s safe, affordable and in an amazing location, with lots of great restaurants in the area. Well worth a visit!
