I changed my mind about booking after reading the Google reviews. Booking.com wanted me to pay a £50 damage deposit upfront, but for what? I also read that the breakfast was rubbish, just toast and ham, the rooms were dirty, and the staff were horrible. No thanks.

Earl's Court tube station is right nearby, the rooms were quiet, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We expect cozy-sized rooms in the UK, so the room size didn't bother us. The maintenance problems did. I could feel every spring in the mattress, so I took the duvet from the other bed, folded it in half, and put it under me to sleep more comfortably. There were also mildew, mold, or water stains above the shower. I'm allergic to mold and had to take antihistamines all weekend. I didn't want the hassle of moving rooms or hotels. They also don't mention that you need to pay a deposit for the A/C and TV remotes. So although they say they have A/C, you need to set aside extra money to use it.

The service and attitude were bad, and this was the first and last time we'll stay here. At check-in, the staff member at the counter was unfriendly and impatient while we paid the balance of the room charges. The next morning, we asked the man at the counter for two more towels and for the room to be cleaned later. We were told he was the owner, an old Indian man. He rudely said we wouldn't get more towels and that if we wanted to stay at a Hilton Hotel, it was down the road. He also said they don't clean rooms every day. You have to leave a deposit for the Aircon and TV remotes. This is a small hotel in a house along Cromwell Road, with few small rooms, limited facilities, and a basic breakfast that isn't fabulous. Avoid it at all costs. I presume most positive reviews are from hotel insiders or the owner.

The bathroom is moldy, and there was mold behind the beds too. You can smell that typical musty scent. When it comes to cleaning, a hotel has to be critical of itself. Mold can cause serious health problems. Please fix this. The place is old, which is acceptable to a point, and the interior has some charm, but dust and dirt aren't part of that charm. I don't like leaving a bad review, because there were good things too. The location is good, prices are low compared with London's average, and the staff were helpful, prepared, and kind. Breakfast was standard but hearty, and they paid attention to you throughout.
