The staff were wonderful, kind and genuinely helpful. My room was pleasant, though the carpet seemed a little worn and its only window was opaque, so it felt quite dark. At this price, having to program my own key cards at self check-in felt hard to justify. The lobby also works as a public coworking space, and it’s constantly packed with non-guests on laptops. It feels designed to project a “creative hustle” look at paying guests’ expense. I tried to work there on three separate occasions and couldn’t get a seat. Even when I came down for a quick morning coffee, every table was taken by non-guests, so I had to take it away. Paying this rate and being unable to sit in your own hotel’s common space is unacceptable. If you’re only visiting as a tourist and need somewhere to sleep, that may not matter. But for a work trip, it isn’t a comfortable or practical base for getting work done.

The lobby is a big, cool common area with a real nomad vibe, and there’s a fast elevator with a water fountain right next to it. Brick Lane and its local shops are all around. The staff were sweet and attentive, always greeting us with big smiles. Our room was big, clean and lovely, with a super comfy mattress and no “sinking holes,” if you know what I mean. The shower pressure was great, and the water heated up in no time. Really enjoyed our stay.

The Sticks and Sushi breakfast was a great bonus. The food was good, and the setting felt relaxed, refined and elegant. The hotel isn’t close to an underground station, so the overground is your only option, but it was still a perfect base in Shoreditch and I’m looking forward to coming back. I only stayed briefly, but the service made me want to leave a review. We booked a Studio Plus, which was spacious, with a massive, incredibly comfortable bed. The room was well lit, warm, smelled great, perfectly clean and looked lovely. Staff were happy to arrange an extended checkout when we called down. They picked up the phone and immediately knew our names, and were polite, helpful and respectful from check-in through checkout. Giselle at the front desk made us feel like family and was always ready to help.

The included breakfast was delicious and generous, and all the staff were lovely. We come to London often for a break and have tried several hotels in the area. This one is easily the best. It feels luxurious without going over the top, and the generous, carpeted rooms feel more like small apartments than hotel suites. Honestly, it’s just great.

The room, bed and shower were amazing, and the location was great. But the lobby was a mess for guests. It was full of students and remote workers sitting there for free, and I couldn’t find a place. I’ve no idea what management’s strategy is. The hotel lobby staff were very kind, but breakfast service was a disaster: it took forever, they forgot things, and the menu was limited and a bit complicated. Breakfast was included, but I still had to pay separately for a cappuccino even after skipping parts of the menu.
