We were in London for Valentine's weekend, and the check-in process was very smooth. I'd completed the online check-in already, and it was a bonus that our room was ready early. My wife was pleased to find the flowers I'd ordered, with petals on the bed and a heart shaped Valentine's pillow. Thank you. The room was basic, fairly clean, and quite dated. It was very warm, and we couldn't find any temperature controls or radiators. We tried opening the large, heavy old wooden window. It was hard to open and wouldn't stay up, so I propped it with a water bottle to let some air in. The room was huge, with a separate dressing area outside the bathroom. The bathroom was a good size, with a good shower and extras such as razors. The bed was rock hard, while the pillows were soft. My wife asked for an extra quilt to make the bed softer, and it arrived promptly. The area was fairly quiet at night, apart from some ordinary noise from the Sainsbury's vans behind our room. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. It's in a nice area, close to Gloucester Rd and South Kensington underground stations, though Uber worked better for our needs. Nearly £300 for two nights without breakfast felt expensive to me, but that's probably about right for London. I think we'd stay again if we visited London.
The location made it easy to explore London, with most main attractions close by. Everyone was friendly and kind from the moment I arrived, and service across the hotel was excellent, always with a smile. My stay at Park City Grand Plaza Kensington Hotel was wonderful. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. I'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting London.
That shisha lounge inside the hotel is what first brought me here last year. Now, whenever I’m in London with my family, this is my first choice. The lounge is a real point of difference, and the whole place has a great atmosphere. Staff are welcoming, professional, and attentive, and the service is excellent. I’d recommend it to anyone after a comfortable London stay with something a little distinctive.
The room itself was nice and roomy, but the bed was a major problem. Reception gave me a mattress topper after I raised it, but it made no difference. Reservations then told me the beds were fine and that nobody had complained before, which is completely untrue. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I’ll be taking this further.
We spent five nights here and found it quiet at all hours, which was a surprise for a city hotel. Earl's Court and Gloucester Road were both an easy walk away. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. The bathroom fittings seem a bit dated and could use an update. At times the toilet kept running after a flush, though we managed to sort it by flushing several more times. The sink also drained slowly, and the water could get unusually hot even with both taps set to warm. None of that was a serious problem, I’ll admit.
