Premier Inn London Kings Cross

I chose this hotel for my first stay because I wanted somewhere near KX, and it looked good online. The check-in staff were brilliant and really friendly. My plus room was clean and a good size, with the basics I needed for a few nights. The breakfast team were friendly as well and kept the restaurant tidy. There's also a nice shared seating area downstairs.

We usually stay in central London, but this time picked Kings Cross because our train arrived there and left from there on Sunday. Being able to get rid of our bags when we arrived, and leave them on Sunday while we spent the day in the city, was fantastic. The onsite bar and restaurant were lovely, with a great range of food and drinks. The buffet breakfast was just what we needed, as usual for Premier Inn. We paid a little extra for a premier plus room, which was nice, especially with the extra tea and coffee. It felt a bit cramped for two of us, though that may be because we're used to a family room. We'd definitely recommend the hotel and return.

Kristina made check-in such a lovely experience. She made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to help with our room and luggage needs. She was engaging and exactly the sort of person you'd want at the front of house. The hotel was clean, and it's well placed for national train routes from the NE. The rooms felt a bit small for sharing, but they were good value for London.

This hotel isn't really suited to families with young kids, so I might have rated it a 3. But the staff were fantastic and looked after us throughout the week. They were accommodating and committed to making the service family friendly. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff went above and beyond again. Big thanks to the whole team.
