The location is a real plus, right by Southside Shopping Centre, about a 10-minute walk from Wandsworth Town, and with decent buses to other areas from Garrett Lane. But the room didn’t feel up to the usual Premier Inn standard. There were black hairs in the bathroom, even though my partner and I both have light hair, a stained crack in the toilet bowl, a cracked bathroom wall and stained bedsheets. The air con didn’t work, and even in winter the room was too warm for a comfortable night’s sleep. Reception was left unattended for long stretches, and I also noticed fire doors in the public corridors being left open. Shame, because the location is great.
We stayed one night yesterday, me and my kids. We normally use the Battersea Premier Inn, but it was fully booked, so this was our first time here. I used to live in the area and know it pretty well.
We’ve always stayed at Premier Inn as a family and never had an experience this bad. The hotel feels run down. There was mud on the floor when we arrived, and I don’t think it had been vacuumed. We picked it up with tissue, then asked reception to clean the room the next day while we went out. It still hadn’t been done when we got back. With our 2-year-old in nappies, the bins were full, so I went to reception. I was told there was no housekeeping staff, and the receptionist gave me two towels and bin bags instead. I had to empty the bins myself and was told to leave the dirty bags outside the room. The extractor fan didn’t work either, and the room smelled awful. People had left dirty things outside their rooms too. Dirty hotel.
Leo was by far the best service we had during our three-night stay with my two young children. He was kind and helpful, making sure everyone’s needs were met. He definitely deserves a promotion.
I arrived on time to collect my paid Full English Breakfast today. My clock showed 10:45am, within the app’s stated collection window of 10:30am to 11:00am. The man who met me, who appeared to be the manager, said breakfast collection had closed at 10:45am. I pointed out that it was 10:45am and I wasn’t late, but he was very rude and made me feel awkward for collecting something I’d paid for. He was reluctant to give me napkins and utensils, as if I was asking too much. First impressions were poor, and I won’t buy from them again. He was really lacking in hospitality.
