The staff were apathetic and rude, and the front desk wasn’t helpful. They had a local map but couldn’t point out where the hotel was, and when we asked for a breakfast suggestion the next morning, the person just shrugged and told us there were plenty if we headed that way. The room made for a miserable night: it was small, the bathroom was so cramped the door wouldn’t close, and sitting on the toilet meant resting your arms on the tiny sink. There was no air, and even in October it was unbearably stuffy with just one thick comforter and no other bedding options. We were on the fourth floor, which we were asked if we were okay with because the lift only reaches the third. The stairs were so narrow and steep that we worried about falling, or getting out in a fire or other emergency. I stayed one night because it was close to Paddington, but it wasn’t worth the price. The hotel is dated and hard to get around. I’d be wary of the hotels along Sussex Gardens after this.

The location is great, about four minutes from Paddington, and the staff are friendly. It’s a small hotel that’s fine for one night, but I wouldn’t choose it for a city break or holiday. Good value for the money overall. 👍🏻

The manager was really friendly, and the location is great. We stayed two nights with my sisters and found it excellent value. I’d definitely recommend it.

The location was a real plus, just a short walk from Paddington Station. Our room was small but clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I’d happily stay again.
