Rhodes Hotel

The pillows really need replacing, but otherwise this is a lovely place in an excellent location. We stayed here twice: the first room was adequate, while the second was stellar. I highly recommend the hotel.

The location is good, and the pub Herron around the corner is worth a visit for Thai food as well as a drink. The place is cheaply done, basic and functional, with lots of stairs, and people can get lost. It could do with a clean and a revamp. The towels were more like hand towels, though that was fine since I was on my own. I didn’t like having to pay a deposit when the room had already been paid for. I was disappointed, especially as the booking was made for me.

A comfortable room, a great location, and a good price are hard to find these days. I had a great stay and will be back. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to stay in central London.

The location near an underground station and the polite reception staff were the only good parts. The room was extremely cramped and stuffy, with just one window that barely opened. We were on the top floor, and there’s no lift; the stairs are narrow and steep, which is awkward with large bags and difficult for anyone with limited mobility. It could be a very unpleasant stay if you’re claustrophobic. We asked to switch rooms when we arrived, but were told it wouldn’t be possible until the next day because the hotel was fully booked. We decided to stay, though the discomfort continued. For the price, it was far below what I expected. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to people who need space, comfort, or accessibility. Before booking, I’d also suggest reading the hotel’s responses to negative reviews. Some seem defensive and even condescending, and appear to put the blame on the guest instead of acknowledging the concerns.
