The heating barely worked during the day and stopped overnight altogether. In December, the room was cold at night. We could also hear a neighbor's TV all night, loud enough to make out what was being said. The staff member was polite and helpful, but that's where the good points ended. We were put in a studio apartment that was dirty and marked up. The shower was dirty too, with a disgusting broken door. The pillows were extremely thin, and although there was one spare, it had no cover, so there were only three pillows between two people. The sheet didn't fit the bed and bunched up whenever we moved, leaving us sleeping on the bare mattress. The kitchen had one dinner plate, two side plates, one bowl, two knives and forks, and one glass. There were no proper knives for preparing food or other cooking utensils. We were given one bath sheet and one towel for two people, despite staying more than one night. There were lots of other problems, but I think that's enough. I'd pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

It's cheap, but not very cheerful. We stayed in a small, cramped studio across the road. It was rough around the edges, with scuffs, marks, and stains on the walls and doors, though at least it smelled clean. The stairway was shabby and smelled a bit. The pillow was so thin I wondered if it was a joke, and I had to use my backpack instead. There was no shower mat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a fridge in the room, which I didn't use but was good to have available. For a short trip, I'd spend another 30 to 40 quid a night for somewhere nicer.

My close friend stayed in ground-floor room 79 last night and left today after finding cockroaches, including in the shower. The sheets were dirty, and they were even running over the kettle in the room. When she complained last night, the concierge tried to kill them. The window on the right side of her room wouldn't close or lock. Hotel guests could end up carrying roaches from this hotel.

The welcome made a big difference. I was greeted when I arrived and had a little chat, which made me feel at home. I travel a lot, and hotels can feel pretty standard, but this place was really nice and the customer service was good.

The location works really well for shopping, right between Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush, with lots of local restaurants and takeaways around. I was placed here by a local authority, and the staff have been very helpful. The cleaning team are the best. I've seen them clean the stair banisters every day, which meant a lot to me with OCD and a germ phobia. I couldn't ask to be somewhere better.
