SACO Fleet Street - Crane Court

The apartment was quiet despite being right off Fleet Street, thanks to its courtyard setting. It was spacious and full of natural light, with a well-stocked kitchen and all the consumables we needed. Everything had been prepared carefully and was sparkling clean. It felt cozy and was supported by a fantastic team of dedicated professionals. Mr. Sanket was especially helpful, storing our luggage before check-in and after checkout. The whole team was responsive at all hours and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. It feels like a world-class place, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you for having us.

I booked through booking.com and first got a normal confirmation. Then a suspicious-looking link came through the Booking app asking me to reconfirm. I had free cancellation, so I cancelled. Booking confirmed it, and the property sent a normal-sounding cancellation message. But then more odd messages arrived via the app. One asked me to confirm the booking and said they would charge my card the full amount. I replied that I’d cancelled. Another told me to complete confirmation or they’d take action “under section 7.3 of the service agreement,” whatever that means. After seeing the reply below, I’m glad I cancelled. I’m willing to believe the property itself isn’t a scam, but companies have a responsibility to customers. If their Booking.com account was hacked and someone was sending scam links, they should have warned everyone with a booking. I’m also concerned what information the hackers might have accessed, and customers should have been told. The listing still appears to be taking bookings despite hackers having access to the account. Since there apparently is scam activity on their Booking.com account, resenting someone for warning others about it is a bad attitude.

We had several smaller annoyances in the penthouse apartment: no kitchen sponges or appliance instructions, low shower pressure, very soft water, and terrible pillows. The place was quiet at night and in an excellent location, but I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it. We were there six nights, and check-in was a problem from the start. We arrived at 3 p.m., the stated time, after a nine-hour red-eye flight, hoping to rest. The cleaner was still in the apartment and seemed to have only just started. We were told to leave and return later, then had to sit around for another 45 minutes while the cleaning finished. The washing machine door was locked shut because the machine was broken. Their maintenance person, George, arrived quickly and tried to fix it, but couldn’t. He did wash our clothes for us during the stay, which was kind.

George and Andreea were really accommodating. They arranged an early check-in for me and stored my luggage on the last day. I stayed for a couple of nights recently, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed.
