San Domenico House

After a long day exploring central London, we loved unwinding with hot tea in the lounge before bed. My husband and I stayed for two weeks and absolutely loved it. Our room, the Gallery, and the service were all excellent. We had the Continental Breakfast almost every morning, and sometimes upgraded to the Healthy Breakfast with salmon and avocado or the English Breakfast with sausage and ham. The Chelsea location is perfect, with great restaurants, pubs, and shops around, plus buses and the Tube a short walk away. This was our second stay, and we'll choose it again first when we visit London.

The rooftop terrace is a real treat, with wide views across London and a lovely spot for an evening drink. The junior suite was huge and luxurious, and the bed was comfy, though the pillows weren't. There’s only a coffee machine in the room, no tea or kettle. The hotel is cosy and beautiful, right by South Kensington high street, and the staff were very helpful and courteous. They all speak Italian, if you were wondering. A good choice if you want a bit of luxury in the heart of Chelsea.

The staff were the best we’ve ever experienced, especially Lara and Tim, who were attentive, polite, and so kind and accommodating with our 14-month-old daughter. Breakfast had plenty of great choices, and the room cleaning was excellent. I loved the small touches too, like chocolates left on the nightstand after the curtains were closed for the evening. The rooftop was a quiet, lovely place to unwind at night. San Domenico House is in a peaceful part of Chelsea, with the tube just a short walk away for getting around London. We’d definitely stay again next time we’re in the city.

The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well placed, with historic, old style furnishings. My son and his wife had a very well designed two level bedroom. Because I have mobility problems, I was given a small ground floor room with a walk in shower. The rooms are arranged around several staircases, though, so it isn’t suitable for disabled guests. The bar is on the fourth floor, reached by lift to the third and then three flights of stairs. It turned out to be an honesty bar without any wine, and it was very expensive. Not ideal.
