About this property

Six Senses London sets a different rhythm for the city. The brand’s first UK destination, set within the reborn Whiteley in Bayswater, is an icon reimagined for a new era. An urban oasis with a rhythm all its own, where each of the 109 rooms, suites, and 14 branded residences is crafted with intention. Many open onto private terraces, dissolving the line between indoors and out. The arrival sets the tone: an art deco lobby, layered with greenery and framed by soaring ceilings. At its heart, the grand cascading staircase from the original Whiteley’s department store once modelled on Milan’s La Scala is back and revived for its new home. Restoration here is bold. It’s theatre. Whiteley’s Kitchen, Bar and Café sits at the centre of it all. Executive Chef Eliano Crespi leads with instinct and flavour. Guided by William Whiteley’s pioneering spirit, the kitchen celebrates fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients, turning each plate into a generous, expressive experience. From morning to night, Whiteley’s Bar evolves with the hours: natural wines and small plates by day; cocktails with character after dark. Alchemy shapes the menu, adding playful moments of surprise to every order. Whiteley’s Café spills into the courtyard with coffee that wakes, pastries that make you linger, and ice cream built for afternoons that stretch too long. Below, the Six Senses Spa captures London’s layered energy in one continuous flow between movement and stillness. Pause in vaulted calm, explore fitness and biohacking zones, or step into the Alchemy Bar for rituals that blend nature and science. The world’s first Six Senses Place introduces a new rhythm: a space to restore, to gather, and to belong. Some moments are shared, others kept close. The atmosphere is social but never forced, shaped by those who walk through the door. The Earth Lab brings sustainability to life. Come curious. Leave inspired.

The whole place feels modern and relaxed, without the stuffy atmosphere of many traditional London hotels. The food was excellent, and service warm and professional. Near Notting Hill, it’s also a perfect spot for walking. The brand’s commitment to wellness and sustainability shows in the details. Six Senses London has an incredible spa and gym, truly state-of-the-art and far better than what I’ve found in other city hotels. Easily London’s best wellness hotel. I’ll absolutely stay again.

Whiteley's has had a remarkable transformation from the retail space I visited a couple of times. The calming lobby feels like a new take on what a five-star luxury property in London can be. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a spacious room. The bathroom alone was enormous, with the biggest shower. The dining room was incredible, and the food was unique and delicious. We brought our lovely dog and were treated like real VIPs. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at other Six Senses properties, and this one is a beautiful addition to the urban environment. I’d love to come back and use the spa. Welcome to London, Six Senses. I’m sure guests will be welcomed with open arms.

We especially enjoyed the gym, which had much more equipment than a typical hotel gym. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of options. We had a wonderful stay at Six Senses London. The staff made us feel very welcome and special, and we’d love to return!

The spa was superb too. My sister had a balancing facial and came out with literally brand new skin. We had an amazing stay, and as people who like to eat, we have to say breakfast was sooo good, from the fresh juices and wellness shots to the fresh bakery. Such a positive way to start the day. Dinner had a really fun vibe, and the food was 👌🏻. Just a lovely experience all around, thank you!
