So Kings Cross Hotel

Being close to the station was the main plus. The room was cramped, with barely any space for luggage, though it was clean and the blankets were changed every other day. I was disappointed that slippers cost extra, and the small reception felt crowded. I wouldn’t stay again, it wasn’t worth the experience.

We got the clean, secure place near Euston that we were looking for. It was quiet and comfortable, and the linen and room were spotless. The rooms are tiny, so sharing one can feel a bit like camping. If you need lots of space, you’ll be disappointed.

King’s Cross is an easy walk away, which made getting around convenient. The room was small but clean, with a good bathroom and shower. The only problem was that the TV wouldn’t show terrestrial channels.

The location was the one good thing for me. The windows wouldn’t stay put and kept slamming, so we had to wedge them with coffee stirrers. After midnight, neither the heating nor the aircon worked, and bits of plaster kept falling from above the shower while I was using it. The bedding was dirty too. It feels as if the owners are making money from the location without putting it back into upkeep. I’d pay a little more for somewhere else around Kings Cross.
