The B&B Belgravia

We got lucky and our room was ready when we arrived around 9am. The staff were really kind, and it’s an easy 10-minute walk to Victoria Station. The townhouse exterior is cute and looks like a regular home. Inside, the room was clean apart from a little mold in the shower. It was quite small, but had a kitchenette, and they’d left us a fan, which helped with how hot and stuffy it got at night. I’d recommend it for a few nights.

The check-in was a pleasant start. The gentleman at reception was helpful and very nice. The rest of our stay was disappointing. I’d booked the B&B for my daughter’s 21st birthday after taking her to see Wicked in Victoria, and the problems made a special trip much less enjoyable. The bedroom was excessively hot whatever the weather, and the bathroom felt unsafe: there were no support bars in the shower, and the attractive marble floor was dangerously slippery. The bathroom also had a significant trip hazard. In the bedroom, the large window opened from the bottom, with a big drop to concrete below, which seemed like a serious safety risk. We were also kept awake by loud banging through the night. It continued with the window closed, and I took videos at different times to record it. We were so tired that we couldn’t enjoy breakfast the next morning. At checkout, I showed the receptionist the videos and explained our concerns. She apologized and said a refund would be appropriate, but the manager wasn’t available. I left my details and was told the manager would contact me. I still haven’t heard anything, even after sending a follow-up email. I’m disappointed that none of this was dealt with promptly or effectively. Stayed on 23-24th August

The location in Belgravia is amazing, with Victoria a short walk away. Rooms are very basic, and there were some scuffs and signs of wear, plus an odd broken bathroom tile. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s a great place. Breakfast includes cooked-to-order food as well as continental options.

The room was bright, lovely, and clean, with a comfortable bed and a really good-sized bathroom. We were in London for a concert, and the location worked perfectly, just a 10-minute walk from Victoria Station. Check-in was easy, we could arrive early and leave our bags, and the service was wonderful. My friend and I had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
