The Beverley Hotel

My room wasn’t ready when I arrived late in the afternoon, but Aniket at the front desk was kind, friendly and helpful. He offered me complimentary breakfasts at a nearby sister motel. There was no elevator, so he kindly carried my suitcase up the narrow stairs.

We could leave our luggage there while we spent the day in London, which was really helpful. The hotel is lovely and in a fantastic spot. The room was very small, though I don't mind that, and the carpet definitely needs a proper clean or replacing. Apart from that, everything was very clean.

We found live BED BUGS around the bed when we checked in at about 5 PM at one of the apartments near the hotel. There were also blood marks on the wall behind the window blinds. Luckily we spotted them before going to sleep, or we might have brought them home. I took photos and videos straight to reception and asked them to find us another room or accommodation. We waited three hours, but they couldn't help; all they said was that the refund would take 7-12 days. It was Friday, 4 October 2025, around 9 PM by then, and finding somewhere else for three people was extremely difficult. We were tired, hungry, thirsty, and very disappointed. I also spoke to the manager on the phone. They were rude and unprofessional, insisted I was wrong, and didn't apologize or say they'd call pest control to inspect. I had even sent the pictures and videos on WhatsApp, but there seemed to be no concern for guest safety or hygiene. I hope pest control inspects the property and that proper action is taken. These conditions are unacceptable.

The location is great, and the rooms are small but adequate. For London, the price wasn't a particularly good deal, but the bigger issue was being kept out of our room until 6:30 PM, even though check-in was at 3 PM. They'd let the previous guest stay seven hours past checkout, at our expense. They offered a Holiday Inn Express breakfast as compensation, which we turned down. It's the sort of thing that makes the Seinfeld reservation scene funny until it happens to you. I wouldn't risk booking here again.
