The helpful man at the desk during the day understood our problems and moved us to a slightly better room. The night staff member, though, was quite rude. We had to change rooms when the toilet stopped working, and the kettle was broken too. Getting the key into the lock was a nightmare, breakfast was poor, and the room was freezing. The hotel feels tired and dated throughout and needs a full makeover. I wouldn't stay again.

The hotel has a lot of potential, with a beautiful neighborhood and a convenient location that's well connected to the rest of the city. We chose it for the building and its history, but the place needs a lot of attention, cleaning, and care. Our room smelled damp, and the furniture was broken. Breakfast was disappointing, with barely any fruit and terrible coffee, so we decided not to eat there. The restaurant and breakfast area aren't in a condition to welcome guests. The staff came across as lazy, though friendly enough.

The rooms have a classic, almost royal feel, and the restaurant is beautiful. The staff were friendly, and the place feels authentic, with that classic London atmosphere. People complain about anything these days and seem harder and harder to please. For me, it was one of the best hotel experiences of my life. 100% recommend!

On my first day, I was put in a room beside reception. The shower was broken, there was no refrigerator, and I could hear an argument with the contractor at the front desk. It was awful, and I had to change rooms the next day. Facilities were often out of order, towels and bathrobes weren't replaced unless I asked, and the rubbish wasn't collected. I stayed alone in June 2022 and don't recommend it. Emma at the front desk was very kind. The location is convenient, near Paddington Station and Warwick Avenue, with supermarkets nearby.

I didn't stay at the hotel, just came for afternoon tea for two that I'd bought through Groupon. The space was really nice and the service was good, but the food was honestly the worst afternoon tea I've had. The scones seemed like cheap supermarket ones that had been microwaved. Sandwich choices were limited to basic ham and cheese, cucumber and cheese, and something with eggplant that didn't taste good. The sweets were laughable: three tiny bite-size pieces, four little biscuits, literally 2x2cm, and two equally small macarons, all average at best and some poor. I'd expected more from a distinguished hotel in Little Venice. I've had better afternoon tea at my local pub.
