There were six of us in a mixed-age family group, including a 90-year-old and a five-year-old, and we had a really good Sunday carvery. Between us we tried the turkey, beef, lamb, pork, and gammon, along with a good range of vegetables, sauces, and a huge Yorkshire pudding. The staff were careful to tell us about peanuts in the kitchen because of the nut roast, as the five-year-old is allergic to gluten and peanuts. We’ve also enjoyed the burgers and pizza here before. We’ll probably get a roast takeaway in the future.

Even with the place busy over the weekend, the staff were really friendly and made sure everyone was having a good time. It was clean, relaxed, and welcoming, just what I want from a dependable local spot.

The Green W7 on Lower Boston Road is a lovely pub in Hanwell, with friendly staff and a gentle atmosphere. There’s plenty of beer to choose from, including a couple of cask ales from Marlow Brewery and one from Portobello. The front patio has lots of seats. Good place, worth a visit.

The pizza is excellent, and this place is also home to what must be London’s largest, and certainly its oldest, Ukelele band. More than 40 people meet every Tuesday at 8 pm to practise songs they’ve built up by gathering every week for twelve years. That’s part of what makes Hanwell a lynch pin in London’s grassroots music scene.

Green W7 has a distinctive, cozy feel, friendly staff, and great music, a real West London gem. There’s a broad selection of local and classic beers, and the food is surprisingly good, especially the burgers and snacks.
