The July London Victoria

A really pleasant stay. The hotel is brand new, nicely decorated, and the staff are lovely. The room had everything I needed. It was well located for my trip: 20 minutes by metro from St Pancras Station, where I arrived by train, and 15 minutes on foot or by bike from the main art museums. I’d recommend it.

The staff were fantastic and helpful, and the hotel feels freshly renovated with a modern, artsy look. The bathrooms and kitchens can look dated in photos, but that’s the midcentury-modern style they chose, and it’s rather nice in person, so don’t let it put you off. The shower only got lukewarm on its hottest setting. Breakfast à la carte was a pretty standard hotel meal without much flair, disappointing for the price, especially since the evening food at the resto looks ace. The croissants were really good, though. Neither issue would stop me staying again, but I’d hope the showers were fixed, and I wouldn’t pay the extra £27 for breakfast.

The Idler restaurant is a must-visit. We had a wonderful stay at The July too. It was quiet, the room was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable, so we slept really well. The staff were attentive, friendly, and respectful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again if I return to London.

This is our new favorite London hotel. The rooms feel like mini apartments, with fully stocked kitchens and Nespresso machines. The bed and pillows were super comfy, the room was clean, the shower was great, and each room has its own heating and air conditioning control. There’s an inexpensive, easy-to-use laundry facility, plus a really good gym and sauna. The staff were amazing. Room service is by request, so we could sleep in on vacation without housekeeping carts in the hall. Best of all, the noise-reduction windows kept the traffic out. Victoria is a great, central area for trains, shops, restaurants, and cafés.
