The Lansbury Heritage A Sunday Ht- Canary Wharf

After our wedding, we stayed two nights at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel in Poplar and loved it so much we booked an extra night. The room was beautiful, comfortable and peaceful, and the hotel had a calm, luxurious feel without being pretentious. Ernest, a lovely gentleman, made the stay especially meaningful. His kindness, professionalism and genuine care went above and beyond, and made us feel celebrated after such a big life event. The whole team helped make our post-wedding visit memorable. Thank you, especially Ernest. We'll absolutely be back.

The building looks lovely and our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed. The front desk was generally nice and responsive, especially Ernesto, and the location was nice. But there were several problems during our stay at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel from Jan 30, 2026 through february 4, 2026, when we were in London for our sons wedding. Before arriving, I sent 3 messages over 6 weeks, using the contact page and direct email to ask questions. No one ever replied. We were in ground-floor room G02, which was very noisy. People talked in the echoing hall by the stairs and elevators, sometimes with children shrieking and playing close to 11 p.m. We had to ask them to quiet down. One night, the room above sounded like chairs were being dragged until midnight. The front desk did speak to those guests after we raised it, but the room was still noisy. The temperature was hard to control, swinging from freezing to too hot. Room surfaces were dusty and housekeeping didn't dust during our stay. The rug was stained and could use replacing. The half-door on the shower barely kept water in, leaving the floor flooded after each shower. We ended up putting extra towels down first. Breakfast was great on the first day, but exactly the same every day, which got boring over several days. The coffee maker broke for our last 2 breakfasts. I understand machines break, but an electric kettle and a jar of instant coffee wasn't an adequate replacement.

The area is quiet and relaxed, with good public transport links to Canary Wharf and central London. It worked well for staying outside the busiest tourist areas. Parking was a bit difficult, though that's London for you. At The Lansbury Heritage Hotel by Sunday in Canary Wharf, the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional throughout. The room was clean and comfortable, nicely styled, and balanced character with modern comfort. It was a pleasant, well-run stay and I'd happily come back.

We arrived to a warm welcome, and the team stayed professional and kind throughout. On my birthday, there was a lovely surprise waiting in the room, which made my day. It was spotless and comfortable, the bathroom was exceptionally clean, and the water pressure was perfect. We enjoyed the restaurant too. The food was fresh and flavourful, and they adjusted the spice just as we liked. The bar was a nice addition, with outstanding mocktails. Sam deserves thanks for recommending this particular OYO hotel in London and helping us book through the OYO app. Booking was easy, and the location worked perfectly for getting around the city.
