For my visit to Hackney and the MOTH Club, Old Ship worked well. The single room was small but charming, quiet and clean, and the staff made things easy when I arrived late or asked where to buy something. The waterfall shower was nice once I rubbed the jets to clear the scale. My main reservation was the bed, which didn’t feel supportive and visibly sagged. The chair was uncomfortable too, too tall for me, and I’m not terribly short.

We were in Hackney to see something at the Hackney Empire, and this was a perfect base. The room was lovely, and the pub was absolutely bustling in the evening. We really liked Hackney and would definitely come back. Thank you.

It’s close to lots of amenities, yet very peaceful. The staff reflect how happy this place is to work at, and that comes through in the service. You need to be there to see and feel it.

Getting buses from here is easy. We stayed one night and had a great room, clean and fresh, with a clean bathroom and a lovely shower. The bar was nice too, and we had a few drinks there. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

For under £80, this is the best place I’ve found in central-ish London. Check-in was efficient, the room was clean and pleasant with a window, and the shower was good. I didn’t get to try the pub food, maybe next time. Cheers.
