The food was delicious and good value, and Justyna and Tilly made the evening feel special. They were attentive without hovering and easy to reach when we had a question. We’d booked for two on Friday night and will definitely come back.

We spent about £51 each including service, with roughly two or three drinks apiece, probably £15-£20 of that. Mains were around £18, with starters about £9 and desserts similarly priced. There were 11 of us having dinner again, and the food was excellent, the service impeccable and the atmosphere really good. Wimbledon village is a lovely spot. It’s a great little pub at the front, with a bigger restaurant behind it and a paved beer garden.

We’re locals and won’t be back. We came for lunch as three, and they turned away walk-ins despite having tables free. Those same tables were still empty when we left two hours later, and we think we can see why. The kitchen seemed so short staffed that it was barely functioning as a restaurant. Two steaks and fish and chips took at least 45 minutes, while staff were coming out to serve people outside ordering from the bar menu. We had to beg for drinks, which took a while, and the same went for menus. They have a good reputation, but this sort of visit will damage it.

We had such a fun evening, thanks to everyone there. Our big group ordered lots of food, some people arrived late, and we all wanted different numbers of courses. They handled it brilliantly, with smiles and a real 'nothing is too much hassle' attitude. I’d absolutely recommend the pub for its food and service.

The steak sandwich from the lunch menu was perfection, and there’s a good choice of ales and beers. This is a cosy, welcoming pub in the heart of Wimbledon Village, just off the lovely Wimbledon Common. The staff are friendly and efficient, and keep things running well.
