We spent four nights here, and although the room was fairly comfortable, it wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been. A washing machine seemed to run constantly, and the noise carried into our room. It’s also a shame there’s no refrigerator for a stay of several days. The bed was a bit small for two. There were some good points too: the bathroom was lovely, housekeeping came daily, and the air conditioning was very useful. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is in a quiet area, just a five-minute walk from the Victoria Line station, with several handy shops nearby.
The room was clean and nicely presented, and the shower recess was excellent with plenty of hot water. I’d asked for a ground-floor room and that’s what I got. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Tudor Inn was a great choice for my overnight London stay, with the theatre very close by. I’d be happy to stay there again.
The bathroom had no ventilation, and a brief shower made the steam set off the fire alarm. That felt unsafe and says a lot about how poorly the place is managed. The online photos are pure fiction compared with what you actually get: a smaller, dirtier, badly maintained hotel. My room was cramped, dusty, and the bed didn't seem clean. The air conditioning was broken, some sockets didn't work, and cleanliness and comfort seemed to have been ignored. Save your time, money, and sanity and stay somewhere else. This was a complete waste.
There was a safe in the room, but no code to use it. The staff weren't very welcoming, and storing a bag came with a fairly expensive charge for each one. I also hadn't been told when booking that check-in was across the street at another hotel, then I had to cross back to find my room. The stay itself was okay, though each bed really needed at least four pillows. It could have been better, and I'd look for somewhere a bit nicer next time, if I can. London does feel like a money grab.
The floor was covered in dust and hair, and there were hairs all over the bed too. It was one of the dirtiest hotels I've stayed in. If cleanliness matters to you, think twice before booking. If it doesn't, you might manage here.
