Sonia showed us to our rooms and made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. Later, Rachieal was warm, accommodating, and lovely to chat with. From the moment we walked in, the care and professionalism were clear. I can’t recommend the staff or hotel enough.

The room was very clean and had a desk, wardrobe, iron, kettle with tea and coffee, bedside tables with lamps, full-length mirror, and TV. The windows had frosted screens, but both ends opened slightly, and there was air conditioning. The bathroom was a very large wet room with good amenities. Breakfast was a nice buffet with plenty to choose from, and I have no complaints about it. I didn’t use the coffee machine. The hotel’s best feature is its location. I was here alone for a work trip, booked into a double room on a Saturday night for £319, paid by work. The kitchen was closed that evening, so I couldn’t use my £35 dinner tab in the restaurant and had to order food elsewhere, which I’ll have to claim back through work. When I asked reception for a wine glass, they couldn’t provide one because the kitchen was locked. I wanted to buy wine and food from the local supermarket to have in my room, since I didn’t want to be out alone in central London in the dark. The location is great, but the cost didn’t feel worth it for what the hotel was.

Rachael made a big difference to our stay. She looked after me, my wife and daughter, answered all our questions, and made everything easy. The rest of the team were great too, and the service was amazing. She deserves a raise! The location worked well for us, and we had a great stay overall. I’ve given four stars because, for a hotel rated four stars, the room we got felt more like a three-star one.

The breakfast was the one letdown. I got there around 8:30, an hour and a half after service had started, and the food under the heat lamps was only lukewarm. The artisanal bread was hard and dry. Covers would keep things in better shape, as they do at most hotels. My single room was small, as expected, but had what I needed: a wardrobe, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. The en-suite was very nice, and the bed was comfortable.

The kitchen closes on Mondays for some reason, so there was no room service or dining when I arrived hungry. I hadn't been told about that, though there are plenty of places to eat nearby. I've stayed at the Wesley a few times, and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and it's only about a five-minute walk to Euston station. Even with the hotel so close to the station, the room was quiet. A nice place to stay.
