Urban Chic - Shaftesbury

We were on the 4th floor in the three bedroom flat, right in the middle of things and within walking distance of most central London attractions. It was lovely, spacious, clean, and had everything our family needed. There’s lots of storage, the beds were comfortable, the linen fresh, and one bedroom has its own shower and toilet. The big living room has a flat screen TV and comfy seating. The huge kitchen has a dining area, full sets of dishes, glasses, mugs, and silverware, plus an espresso machine with capsules, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, oven, and kettle. There’s also a washer and dryer in the hallway cupboard, two hair dryers, and good heating, including towel warmers and heated bathroom floors. Soap, shower gel, and shampoo were provided. The towels were a little small, but there were plenty. It can be lively and noisy late on weekends because the location is so central, so light sleepers might want earplugs. Otherwise, it was perfect.

Great location, but it was noisy enough that we couldn’t sleep. The apartment felt stuffy and unclean, the AC didn’t work, and the staircase smelled of marijuana. At this price it’s a rip-off. Don’t go.

We’re having a great time here, despite the bad review I saw. The apartment feels grand, with four bedrooms, one of them having an extra bathroom. There’s a cool balcony view, the kitchen is equipped, and towels and other things are ready for guests. A great stay.

I’m in the apartment on the 4th floor now, and the lift has been out for more than nine hours since check-in. Unfortunately, the host doesn’t seem to care.
