Z Hotel Victoria

The rooms were very clean and well cared for, and we felt at home. The reception staff were kind and extremely helpful to us and our children. They dealt with everything we asked for straight away and with a positive attitude. This is the first time a hotel has made us feel this way. We'd definitely return and recommend it. We only stayed one night, but it was a gem. As members, we were treated like royalty, with complimentary tea and coffee, cheese and wine, and a late checkout. The staff were exceptional. The location worked well for arriving by coach or train, just a four minute walk away. The theatre is five minutes on foot, Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park is a 20 minute walk, and Oxford Street is a direct tube ride. Our room had no window, but was comfortable and felt a bit like an inside cabin on a boat. The shower was great, too. The bathroom has opaque glass between it and the room, so you'll want to be comfortable with whoever you're sharing with.

For £90 for one night, I wouldn't recommend it. The room was so tiny that my boyfriend and I had to keep moving around each other to make it work. It was no bigger than a prison cell.

The price was good, and the rooms were small and cosy, with a comfortable bed and good ventilation despite having no window. It's well placed for the Apollo theatre and Buckingham Palace. The main drawback is the glass toilet pod with very little privacy. You worry about waking your sleeping partner when you need to use it.
