I've stayed at Penrose in Lostwithiel for years, and it really is the best B&B I've been to. Chris and Heidi keep everything just as you'd expect, and they do a fantastic job. The full English breakfast is freshly made and beautifully cooked. It's a relaxing place with wonderful views over Lostwithiel, and a handy base for trips around Cornwall or even a full day's outing into Devon. There's no need to move to another B&B unless you're heading further on. Staying here gives the holiday a great start, and I leave feeling refreshed. It's dog friendly too, with nice local walks.

Thanks so much, Chris and Heidi. We had a very comfortable stay with our dog, and the breakfast was delicious. We'll come again.

The Victorian feel of the house is lovely, and Chris and Heidi are such great hosts. The food is excellent too. Their scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and dill are hard to beat.

The rooms are romantic and comfortable, and breakfast was just right. Heidi and Chris were so welcoming and knew loads about the town and nearby area. Five stars are well deserved, and I’d happily stay again or recommend it to anyone.

The attic suite was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bathroom where the skylight brought in loads of natural light. The whole property was spotless and kept in keeping with its Victorian style. From the house, which sits a little above Lostwithiel, there are lovely views across the village and the green hills. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including local produce for a full English, kippers, smoked salmon scrambled eggs, fresh juice, cereal, fruit, toast and yoghurt. We were visiting the Eden Project, only a 10-minute drive away, and Fowey and Charlestown were both easy to get to as well. Chris and Heidi greeted us with smiles and made us feel at home straight away. Their hospitality, professionalism and hard work were much appreciated. We hope to come back soon. Brenda, John and Paul :) There’s also a lovely little nook with Heidi’s photography and artwork, a TV, and lots of books and reading material.
