I arrived at 6 p.m. after telling them in advance that I’d be arriving then, but there was NOBODY in the entire hotel, not even anyone working at reception. They gave me a phone number, and nobody answered that either. I was hugely disappointed by this “hotel,” which can hardly be called a hotel at all. It’s tucked away, and arriving at night, you’d almost never find it. It’s down a very dark alley that looks like a cemetery. In the end, what seemed cheap became expensive, and I had to find somewhere else to spend the night because there was nobody at the miserable reception. My recommendation is not to go. It’s a scam.

A simple, affordable place that was clean and comfortable, with a lounge and somewhere to store bikes. It’s right in central Ludlow, and tea, coffee and milk were already in the rooms. There’s no breakfast, but Bill's kitchen is only five minutes away and was great.

We were happy enough with the stay for what it cost, and the location, parking and lovely kitchen/lounge were all good. The bed was comfy too. But in our room, Frome, there were stains on my sheet and my friend's pillowcase, even though the bedding looked freshly washed. The roller blind had no cord, so we had to reach up on tiptoe to roll it by hand. I also never had a hot shower over the three mornings, just lukewarm water. Since the weather was hot it was manageable, but it would have been awful in winter.
