The garden-facing room was spacious and made a lovely, calm place for the afternoon. The buffet had a nice mix of hot and cold dishes, and the scones with cream and jam were delicious. We were there after my mother-in-law’s funeral and really appreciated how kind and helpful everyone was. Thanks especially to the lady who served the food and cleared our tables. The Cooke family appreciated it very much.

Lunch and breakfast were excellent, and the evening meal was enjoyable too, though the venison was a little overcooked. Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was very good overall. The room could use a few cosmetic touches, but at the price we paid we have no complaints. A nice hotel, and we’d return and recommend it.

The bedroom was clean, the beds comfortable, and the blackout blinds and heavy curtains kept it nice and dark. It did get too warm for us, so we switched off the radiator and cracked the window, though that’s down to personal preference. We stayed over Christmas for a wedding, and the staff made the celebration wonderful. The room set up for the service looked gorgeous. Breakfast looked good and the portions were generous; the kids and my other half enjoyed it, though I was having too much fun the night before to eat.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, just right for unwinding after the day. Our guests are still talking about how good the food and canapés were. From the first planning conversations through the wedding itself, everything went perfectly, even better than we imagined. Beckie was fantastic and helped us with everything we needed, while Chris kept things organised and calm on the day. He was attentive, eased my nerves, and nothing seemed too much trouble. We got married here in August and couldn’t recommend it more as a venue that goes above and beyond. 💍✨

Dinner on arrival was wonderful, with relaxed, friendly service. Someone from the team also answered my questions about the Little Squire (see the suit in the photos) and shared a little about the hotel’s history. We enjoyed our one-night stay: the hotel has charm and an interesting story, and our room and very comfy bed were lovely. It was good value and a handy place to break up a long drive. We’d recommend it.
