The friendly service deserves six stars, and the pub food was great. It felt like being welcomed into a friend's home, which you don't often get at a hotel. We did have an issue with the first room, but it was understandable in a 280 year old pub and staff moved us quickly to another. Thanks to everyone working here.

We ended up at The Crown at short notice on New Year's Eve after another venue let us down. The welcome was really friendly, and both the food and service were excellent for the price. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked just right. We'll definitely recommend it to friends and family in the area.

Paul and Jo gave us a very warm welcome for our two-day stay, and it was a great-value deal. The room had everything we needed, including tea and coffee making facilities and lovely towels. Dinner was excellent, I had the burger, and there was a good choice of ales at the bar. Breakfast was superb too, with a great fruit and cereal buffet and a very good full English. We'd definitely return.

The bed was particularly comfortable, and our spacious room was clean and pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pub had a brilliant atmosphere and a great welcome. Breakfast had a wide selection and was excellent; we also had an excellent Sunday dinner. We spent two nights at the Crown and hope to return soon. All the best to Jo and Paul for the future.

Whenever we've been to the area, the Crown hotel has been a gem. The food and beers are great, and dogs are VERY welcome. In winter, the wood stoves are burning and add to the warm welcome. Can't wait to go back soon.
