The cooked breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. You order it through staff rather than help yourself from a buffet, which was different from other Premier Inn hotels. We stayed two nights over Christmas while visiting family. There’s plenty of free parking outside, and a Beefeater next door that serves both continental and cooked breakfast. Our room was clean, tidy and big enough for our family of four. The heating wouldn’t turn down, though, so nights were a little uncomfortable.

The temperature stayed at 19°C and wouldn’t go lower, which was uncomfortable for us since we usually sleep at 16°C or below. The high-tog duvet made it worse, and the pillows weren’t especially comfortable either. We also didn’t get room cleaning during our stay. I’m not sure if that’s the current policy, but with four of us, fresh towels, emptied bins and restocked tea and coffee would have helped. Even the square toilet paper felt more suited to a public loo than a hotel room. On the plus side, the location is convenient and there’s lots of parking. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A few improvements to comfort and housekeeping would make a real difference for families.

It worked well as a place to sleep before heading to Lapland. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, so you need to go next door to the Beefeater for meals. It’s just through one door and into the other.

I enjoyed my stay overall. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable, though the wall had mould and the toilet seat was dirty and needs replacing.

Stopped over halfway through a journey. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the room was comfortable. The breakfast coffee wasn’t great.
