The Old Lodge

The venue is right in the centre of Malton and easy to get to, and its building and gardens were a big part of why we chose it. We got married here in September 25, and the whole place looked even more beautiful than we'd imagined. The rooms were all stylish, each decorated a little differently. Beth, our wedding planner, was amazing. She made sure everything went smoothly and felt perfect, taking on jobs big and small. Staff were always nearby to help over the weekend, and were friendly and approachable. We can't recommend the venue and its people enough, whether you're considering afternoon tea, a wedding, or just a stay.

A nice place, even with some building work going on, which didn't bother us. We only stayed the night and didn't try the bar or restaurant. Some areas felt a little tired, but it was still good.

The food was great, and we had an evening meal on both nights of our stay. The Old Lodge has plenty of history, and we'd enjoyed being somewhere with that character. The place was tastefully decorated for Christmas. The receptionist who welcomed us was so helpful and did everything she could to make the stay enjoyable. We also met the new owners, who were keen to hear about our experience and talk about their plans for the hotel.

The Old Lodge is full of character and charm, and it's only a two minute walk from Malton town centre, which has plenty to offer. A few areas of the hotel could do with upgrading, though. Staff were friendly throughout. We had a great couple of nights, and got upgraded on arrival to a room in the main building with a huge bathroom. We ate there the first night, and both the food and service were first rate. The creamy garlic mushrooms and After eight cheesecake were top drawer.
