AC Hotel Manchester Salford Quays

The beds were too soft for me, and there was a lot of traffic noise in a front facing room. I'd ask for one at the back next time. That said, the rest of the facilities were great, so I'd definitely stay again. Staff and location were excellent, there's free wifi, and the restaurant serves good food at standard hotel prices. On site parking costs £14 per night.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and they cleaned it when we requested. The location is great, close to the city centre and most amenities. Reception staff were friendly and professional, but the hotel falls short on customer service and facilities for a 4 star stay. There was no evening room service or menu, they didn't bring the luggage trolly up, and I had to collect it downstairs. They offered no help, and wouldn't bring ice to the room when requested. The cat fee was £25 a night, which felt expensive. Most hotels charge a flat £30 fee. Parking is £14 a night, so it's not especially affordable, and spaces aren't guaranteed. They also took a refundable £75 deposit for our 3 night stay, which is high. The Hilton doesn't take an extra deposit, and when I stayed there in August its customer service far exceeded the AC. Marriott. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of service and the cat fee.

The location made everything really convenient. There's a convenience store just to the left, a Tesco to the right, and Starbucks and McDonald’s across the street. The room was a comfortable size, not too big or small. If you're travelling with a group tour, the coach can easily drop off and pick up passengers at the side or rear of the hotel. Highly recommended!

I slept really well, the beds were so comfortable and there was no noise disturbance. The rooms were nicely decorated with a modern feel, and very clean and tidy. Staff were lovely at check-in and check-out. Breakfast was about a 6/10 for me. It didn't have many veggie options, but it did the job. There was plenty of parking, even over the Christmas period.
