It was clean, in a great spot, and very convenient for getting around. The one problem was the heat in the room during summer. Opening the windows brought in quite a lot of outside noise, but with them shut it got too hot. Aside from that, I had a good stay.

The buffet breakfast was excellent, with cooked food, cereal, fruit, toast, pastries, jams, and plenty of coffees, teas and juices. We thought it was great value all round. The room lost a star because the bedside light and reading light weren't working, but otherwise we couldn't fault it. Cheyenne checked us in and later looked after us in the bar. He was lovely, helpful and professional, with a great attitude and sense of humour, even though he seemed to be working alone and juggling lots of jobs. He's a real asset to the hotel. The hotel and room were both very clean and tidy, and there's a decent-sized car park that cost us just £4 overnight. The location worked well for the city centre, both main football grounds and the airport. We'd definitely return.

Breakfast was fresh and nicely laid out, and the atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The location made it easy to get to nearby areas. At Diamond Lodge Hotel, we found the place neat and clean, with comfortable, well-kept rooms. The staff were welcoming, friendly and ready to help, which made the stay even nicer.

I was expecting a modern, clean-looking room like the ones shown online, but after the first night I'm already disappointed. It's dated and needs repairs and a proper freshen-up. There's dust, a slight smell, and even the sheets smell musty. I found hairs in the bathroom and a long one in the bed. For around £200 for two nights, it's below standard and not worth it. I've got one more night here, but I won't stay again.

We went for breakfast after a sleepless first night. People were laughing and carrying on outside our room at 2:30 in the morning for over an hour. My neck hurt when I finally got up because the pillows had gone flat. Breakfast was a letdown too. The hash browns I love were like bricks, overcooked and solid. The pastries were just as hard, as if they'd been left out, and the first slice of bread we took was stale. We'd read mixed reviews and hoped it wouldn't be that bad, but it was, and we were both gutted. At least the room was clean, though the bathroom needs updating. The photos online must be from when the place was new. The lower window fascias just outside the main entrance were absolutely filthy. It is cheap compared with most places, so maybe that's reflected in the quality, but cleaning those windows and fascias and serving fresh, acceptable food should still be possible, even on a low budget. If you just want a cheap room, maybe try it, but bring your own pillows. It's got massive potential, though I can't see it doing well if things carry on like this.
