DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport

The part that upset me most was how differently the receptionist seemed to treat me compared with other guests. He came across as friendly and attentive with them, but I felt uncomfortable and disrespected during our interaction. My husband and I are Hilton Gold members, and the booking was under my company name. We've always trusted Hilton's hospitality and service, so this was particularly disappointing. I hope management takes this seriously and makes sure every guest is treated courteously and respectfully. Around 7:00 PM on 26 February, I was feeling unwell and politely asked at reception whether the hotel had Panadol or paracetamol. I understand that supplying medication may not be the front desk's responsibility. There was no one else waiting, and I made the request respectfully. The receptionist repeatedly said “no” while shuffling key cards, avoided eye contact, and showed no basic empathy or willingness to help in any way. The exchange felt dismissive and unprofessional.

The restaurant service is good, though it can be a little slow. I've stayed here many times, mostly because it's close to the airport. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. I usually book a suite, though they seem a bit small here, perhaps because the hotel is older.

The gym feels a little dated and tired, but it was enough to help this middle-aged man feel more human after a night flight. Breakfast was outstanding, and the bar area is modern and well designed. We arrived early in the morning after a short walk from the terminal and were welcomed warmly with hot cookies and bottles of water. Our ground-floor room was spacious, clean, dark, and quiet, just right for a good night's sleep. A high-quality airport hotel.

Ben was a great guy and a wonderful ambassador for someone visiting for the first time. The fruit infusion tea was insanely tasty. Thanks for the accommodation. Breakfast was excellent, and our ground-floor room was great, with no airport noise coming in.
