Malmaison Manchester Deansgate

The location is great, right by the Town Hall, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had suite 605, which was well laid out, with a balcony, a bottle of bubbly on arrival, and a fantastic bathroom. The hotel was okay, but there were stains on the rug and furniture, and it looked like it hadn't been dusted in a while. For a suite booked for two, I was surprised there was only one bottle of water. The hotel fridge was the tiniest I've ever seen and didn't keep things cool. It was also the first hotel suite I've stayed in without a minibar.

The bed was really comfy, and I loved the style and decor of the room and bathroom. The reception lady was lovely and helpful, and the room was clean on arrival with no issues. The TV had Sky Sports, which my partner was happy about. In the morning, we found that our keys had fallen off the side table and ended up under the bed. When we moved the bed, we found a vibrator. We were shocked, since it clearly wasn't ours and definitely wasn't what we expected after a lovely night. We told reception when we left. They said they'd inform housekeeping and seemed shocked themselves.

The room was perfect, the rooftop bar was great, and the staff were so nice. On Christmas morning there was a Christmas stocking on our door, and champagne with breakfast. Such attention to detail. We've stayed at almost every hotel in central Manchester, trying a different one each year for the last 12 years because my birthday is on Christmas Day. This year felt different because the hotel didn't know it was my birthday, so I got to see the usual experience. We'll definitely be back here next Christmas. Thank you so much.

Kevin, Jahmarine, George and Scott made our Christmas so special. They looked after us so well and were friendly and attentive throughout. The rooms are lovely, with beautiful decor and incredibly comfy beds. The food was exceptional too, compliments to the chefs. We had a joyous stay!
