The facilities were the highlight. I tried the pool and the new spa area, and they were as good as facilities at any hotel I’ve stayed in, including 4/5-star places. I know there’d just been a huge refit after the river flooded, but it still wasn’t what I expected from a 3-star hotel. We wanted somewhere near the airport that didn’t feel like a standard airport hotel, so we could relax and make the trip feel like an extra holiday day instead of a stopover. That turned out to be a great choice. The location was close enough without being too close. Every team member we met was great, with a nice balance of friendliness and professionalism. Our room was clean and modern, no complaints there. The bed was a small double, as booked, and it was fine, though I’ll get a king next time. Food was spot on and fairly priced. The chicken cesaer salad, carbonara and breakfast were all lovely. I rarely remember to write reviews, but these guys earned five stars from us. We’ll be back!
We stayed just one night, and the staff were amazing and really helpful. The night shift man was incredible. Our room was clean and fresh, and the steam room and everything else were clean too. Everyone was friendly. There’s a lake a short walk away that looks lovely at night. It was well worth the money, and I can’t wait to go back for a few nights.
The evening rib eye steak was excellent, though it was unusual not to have any vegetables with it. I added the house salad, which was tasty and plentiful. Breakfast was pretty good too. The room felt a little small for one that was meant to be king size.
The spa was exactly what I needed to unwind. I’d also like to thank the staff for making the stay such a good experience, especially night receptionist Sean. As a hospitality manager, I notice the details, and I hope they keep him. He’s friendly, polite and knows how to make guests feel welcome. We went in for one beer, enjoyed the conversation and his company, and ended up staying for ten. He kept talking with us while also checking around the hotel and getting things done. It seemed like he was doing three jobs at once. Thanks again for everything.
Lewis looked after us brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made us feel welcome. The roast dinner was delicious, especially the gravy. You can tell the chef takes time with it. We come with family a few times a year, and it’s always great value and a lovely meal. Highly recommend.
