TRIBE Manchester Airport

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the pillow felt like a rolled-up dog bed stuffed into a pillowcase. The bathtub floor was very slippery. They avoided the shower gel slip hazard by leaving the dispenser empty, apparently. The room was otherwise clean, with furniture in good condition, and the hotel looked stylish and clean at first. There’s a bar and restaurant on site; we didn’t eat there, though the menu looked good. We chose this hotel for an early connecting flight from Manchester. It was a quick walk from Terminal 2 and from the train and bus station. For a place meant to offer a higher-end stay, the Manchester Airport Radisson Blu fell short. This property could be much better with more attention to room comfort. On our return trip we stayed at the Radisson Blu Eduardian, which was a much better experience and exceeded our expectations for a Blu hotel. Next time in Manchester, we’ll choose the Eduardian over the Airport Blu. If convenience matters more to you than comfort, the Airport Blu might suit you. If comfort matters, you may want to look elsewhere.

We dropped our daughter and her partner off because they were flying the next day. My wife and I used the toilet in the main reception, then left. A week later, wee received a £100 parking fine for stopping in the hotel drop-off area for 11 minutes. Neither we nor our family will be going again. Absolute robbery.

We’ve stayed at the Radisson many times before flights, and the hotel itself is good. The rooms are good, the service is good, and it’s a pleasant place to sit. Wine, gin, and the other drinks are still available in the executive lounge, but don’t count on the food. The lounge offering keeps shrinking. It had gone down to samosas and similar items, which were okay, plus cheese. This time it was only cheese and salami, with no samosas. Very disappointing.

We only stayed briefly before an early flight. Check-in was quick, the staff were friendly, and it was easy to get to the Sky Walk for the terminals. We had dinner in the bar. It was quite pricey, but the food was very good.
