Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre

The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the stay, though I was only there for one night during Freshers Week. After a long drive, finding out there was no evening meal meant driving to Marlow, the nearest place to eat, which wasn't ideal.

We went for a Christmas party and had a great time. The food was very good, service was friendly and excellent, and drinks were reasonably priced considering the occasion. There’s free parking too. I’d highly recommend it for an event.

After four years as a member, I’ve cancelled because the conditions have stayed so poor. The changing rooms are filthy and messy, with mud everywhere, so you have to walk through it after showering to get dressed. Dirty briefs, used plasters and other rubbish are left around, the showers are unclean, and there’s a strong drain smell throughout. The steam room and sauna usually smell bad, especially the steam room, and puddles often collect outside it, which feels unhygienic and unsafe. The gym equipment is dated and several machines don’t work properly. For a National Sports Centre, the cleaning, maintenance and safety are unacceptable. Sport England or UK Sport should look into how far the facilities have deteriorated.

Nice place to play hockey, with a good pitch and decent dugouts. I saw some England players there too, including Nick Park.
