The bed was so comfortable that I slept brilliantly, and the room had everything I needed. Breakfast was lovely and kept me going all day. Such a beautiful place in a lovely location, with friendly service. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Matlock Bath.

Paula and Shaun are wonderful hosts, and breakfast was outstanding. We’ve just come back from three nights at this great guest house. It’s in a really good location too. We’d recommend it and stay again.

The bed and linen were comfortable and in good shape. The location is well placed for visiting Heights of Abraham, and sits just on the edge of the noisy area. The room layout was a little odd, with a sink in the room and the shower and toilet in a separate room, which wasn’t ideal.

This was another visit to the lovely guesthouse. The room was clean and quiet, the bed really comfortable, and the breakfasts were amazing. Shaun and Paula are great hosts. There are lots of nearby attractions, though you’ll need a car. Restaurant choice was limited, especially with Fishpond closed for refurbishment, unless you’re happy with fish and chips.

I booked at the last minute because of ill health and was able to take advantage of a cancellation. Paula sent us all the details at short notice, even on her evening off, and she and Shaun made sure our stay was easy and pleasant. We really appreciated it and will be back. Breakfast was divine, and the room was light and airy. It even had my favourite kind of tree, a ‘Monkey Puzzle’, yes, I’m that sad. Parking worked out well, and there were lots of places to eat nearby. It’s a good central location.
