Moxy Milton Keynes

There's a pool table and table football in the communal spaces, and plenty of bars and restaurants close by. The hotel itself was clean throughout, with friendly staff and a good breakfast selection. We got a free cocktail when we arrived, and despite it being Friday night it was quiet. The location was good too. Parking costs extra, and the small lot was full when we got there. We did find a space behind the hotel through Ringo. The lifts are small and slow.

The room is on the small side, like at other Moxy hotels, but it worked fine. If you need a big desk to work at, though, this probably won't suit. The bed was very comfortable, the water stayed hot, and the service was friendly, as you'd expect from Marriott. There's a huge amount of shared space on the first floor, with pool tables and lots of other amenities. The workout room is nice too, with a couple of treadmills and plenty of free weights. It's in a handy business district location, with a couple of restaurants and a large Sainsbury’s across the street. The hotel feels calm and modern.

The people at Moxy really made the place for me. Everyone was friendly, funny, and so helpful. I was in Milton Keynes on a work trip last week and got asked to play at an open mic, but I hadn't brought my guitar. Chris let me borrow one from the wall to practice, and a few staff members later asked how the gig went. The rooms were cool, clean, and comfortable, and the food and cocktails were ace. Great location too, near some brilliant restaurants and a few big shops. If you're staying in Milton Keynes, stay at Moxy.

That motion-activated light under the bed kept coming on whenever I moved the covers, so it woke me up during the night. If they can adjust the sensor, this would be a perfect stay. I'm giving it four stars for that reason alone. Otherwise, I had a lovely time at Moxy in Milton Keynes. It's comfortable, nicely equipped, and really good value.
