The Quay was fabulous. The roast dinner was tasty, good value, homemade, and cooked just right. Service was excellent, and both the landlady and landlord were lovely. She was chatty with a great dry sense of humour, and he was caring and easygoing. I’ve read the bad reviews, but find them hard to believe. Maybe background music would help during quiet periods, but that’s about it. Thanks for the hospitality. We stayed around the corner, so I can’t comment on the rooms. 😘Dawn, Chez, Rose and Maddy💕

Thanks to Collette and the team for hosting such a brilliant afternoon and evening for Steve's 60th birthday. The welcome, buffet, and service were fabulous, and Alan was a star behind the bar. Highly recommend reco.

It’s a nice old looking building, with free Wi-Fi and food available. When I visited, they had just one real ale and one cider on hand pump. The ale was £2.40 a half.

We were staying nearby and popped in for food. The welcome was friendly and warm, and the starters were nice, but the mains were disappointing. I didn’t like the sausage and mash swimming in gravy, and the sausages weren’t very nice. Someone else had the pie, which wasn’t very nice either, with thin, watery filling. My partner said the pork belly was okay, though it was sitting in gravy too. It would’ve been better to have the gravy in a boat so you could choose how much to add. My partner also said the men’s toilet smelled bad and wasn’t clean. A very disappointing visit.

The area is lovely, but stay somewhere else. The host was vile, rude, unwelcoming, and unpleasant. I don’t know what else to say. Looking at the reviews, it surprises me that she only replies to negative ones. There must be so many to keep her busy.
