Murrayfield Hotel & House

The hotel felt refreshingly different from the usual places, and the restaurant was worth recommending too. We could sign in to Disney and Netflix, which was nice since many hotels block them. The room was lovely and clean, and having a sofa was a bonus. Getting there from the airport was easy by bus, with a stop right outside. I loved our stay and would definitely come back.

The complimentary bottle of Prosecco was such a lovely touch, and the room is spotless, spacious, and has a really comfortable bed. We’ve only just arrived at the Murrayfield Hotel Edinburgh, but the staff have already been so helpful and friendly. Buses stop right outside, and it’s about 10 minutes to the centre of Edinburgh, so getting around is easy. Looking forward to the rest of our stay :)

If loud, dirty, and a bit fishy is your thing, this place may suit you. The hotel sits on a busy main road, opposite the stadium, and the paint inside is a lovely shade of diarrhea brown. There’s trash scattered around outside, too. From inside, I could clearly hear conversations from rooms four doors away. Out back, the “parking lot” has about 50 portable toilets to complete the atmosphere.

I was really touched by how quickly the staff responded when I got frustrated, and by how much they cared about making our stay better. I’d booked a room above the standard level as a birthday gift to myself, but the booking agent gave the hotel incorrect details and made it look like I’d chosen the smallest, cheapest room. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault. They upgraded us to a classic room and gave me complimentary prosecco for my birthday. I’m now submitting a complaint to the booking agent, which caused the problem. After this experience, I strongly advise against booking through StayForLong.
