Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a fee of £15. 00 per stay, but they are not permitted in public areas and must not be left unattended in guest rooms. Cancellations must be made by 12 pm the day before arrival; otherwise, the first night's stay will be charged.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly. The decor and carpets are looking a little worn, though. I’d still come back, as it’s good value, and the location is lovely, with fields to look out over and the beach nearby.

The grounds are nicely kept, with pleasant paths to walk and Highland cattle in the next field. The Muthu Newton Hotel is set back from the main road at the end of a long drive, so it feels quiet and secluded. We had a lovely night there, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

We were in one of the cottages behind the main building, and the room was roomy and comfortable. The dining area is beautiful, and the setting is stunning. Reception staff really went beyond what we expected, and the dining staff worked so hard. Wish we’d had more time to stay.

Breakfast was good, but dinner choices weren’t great, and the bar’s beer and wine selection is limited. The dining room looks tired and could use an upgrade. The hotel is nicely placed near the centre of Nairn. Rooms are spacious, though the beds aren’t especially comfortable.

The front desk staff were courteous and accommodating, but the rest of the place felt like a mess. It’s very worn and gave me a dirty feeling, with webs and mold around the window frames, no water pressure, and torn carpet. The bar says it’s open until 9 PM and offers sandwiches and light bites, yet when my husband and I tried to order a sandwich at 6:30, we were told the cooks were too busy in the dining room. I looked in and saw just three tables with eight people total. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless they clean it up and get their act together about what they advertise.
