Albatross Hostel

I came back for a second visit, which says a lot. The place is comfortable, clean, and good value, with nice amenities and beds that are easy to sleep in. The only tiny gripe was the toilet paper, so next time I might bring my own. Nothing major. The lounge is a lovely spot to hang out, and the shared kitchen is spacious with what you need for cooking and storing food. The other guests were a considerate, varied bunch, and even though I'm a bit of an oddball, I felt at home. You're right in the city centre, and honestly it felt like everything was within five minutes on foot. The staff looked after me really well. I had a wonderful time, would happily recommend it, and hope to be back soon.

The staff were the highlight, so friendly and helpful that I couldn't fault them. The rooms were clean, with a decent-sized locker for everyone and several toilets and showers on each floor. It's right in central Newcastle, about a five-minute walk from the station. I was there for the Great North Run, so it was busy, but the shared kitchen and communal space were good. There wasn't internet in the rooms, though that didn't really bother me.

The free bag storage for 24 hours was a real lifesaver, and the staff made the stay even better. Reecs at reception and her assistant were so friendly and helpful. The room was great, and Albatross Hostel has a lot to offer for the price. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Newcastle.

Nice place in a central spot, but the internet only works in the kitchen. The kitchen is always crowded because a group of African people seem to live there, so it's hard to relax in it.
